Lexington County School District One is seeking an Instructional Assistant, Special Education at Forts Pond Elementary School. Under general supervision, you will work with a certified teacher to support students identified as disabled under IDEA, providing physical, emotional and academic assistance to maximize benefit from special education programs.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 60 college credits or an associate degree, or a passing ParaPro/ParaPathways

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• 60 college credit hours or an associate degree.
• Passing score on the ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment.

Responsabilités

• Supports and upholds the mission, vision and goals of the district.
• Assists teachers with classroom activities and instruction.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information.
• Provides physical, emotional and academic support to students identified as disabled under IDEA.
• Assists with daily living activities and uses classroom technology as needed.
• Monitors students and prepares instructional materials.
