Job summary

Springfield Prep Charter School in Springfield, MA is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support instructional and behavioral goals for students with IEPs. You will work with teachers to implement curriculum and accommodations, collaborate with the school team, and help maintain a calm and orderly environment.

The role requires an Associate's Degree or higher and prior experience with children, preferably in an elementary or middle school setting.

Qualifications

• Associates or higher degree preferred with experience working with children.
• Experience in an elementary or middle school setting preferred.
• Commitment to school schedule: 7:25 am–3:35 pm.

Responsibilities

• Implement curriculum prepared by general and special education teachers and plan lessons as directed by the Director of Student Support.
• Implement behavior modifications and academic accommodations for students.
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, culture team, school leadership, and families.
• Support staff in dealing with behavioral crises; monitor the School Culture Office as needed.
• Keep records of student progress in accordance with IEP, BIP, or academic goals.
• Contact parents to discuss discipline or behavior issues.
• Supervise lunch/recess and monitor common areas to maintain a calm, orderly environment.
