Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools in Olson Middle School is seeking a paraprofessional for the SAILS program to provide behavioral and academic support to students with unique needs. The role involves assisting licensed staff, helping with instructional tasks, and supporting daily living activities in a 6.2-hour day, five days a week, 180 days per year.

The position requires a High School Diploma, 60 credits post-secondary or Para Pro Exam, and PCA certification (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 60 credits post-secondary education or passing Para Pro Exam.
• PCA Certification or ability to obtain is required.
• Experience working with special education students is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with licensed staff to assist students with academic, behavioral and daily living skills.
• Assist in implementation of assigned tasks including instruction and supporting students academically.
• Monitor students' independence and adherence to classroom behavior plans.
• Assist with daily living activities and communicate progress with case managers.
