Job summary

McHenry Community Consolidated School District 15 is seeking a Paraprofessional for Chauncey Duker Elementary School to support students in the S.A.I.L. Autism Program.

Reporting to the building principal, the para will assist with classroom activities, implement behavior supports, and communicate with teachers, families and staff. Certification as a Paraprofessional and strong collaboration skills are required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid paraprofessional license required.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe environment including physical intervention as needed according to protocol.
• CPI training preferred or willing to train.
• Work cooperatively with students, teachers, parents and administration; maintain a positive attitude and dependability.
• Willingness or experience working with young children with special needs.
