Job summary

Bloomington Public Schools seeks a Program Management Support Paraprofessional 1:1 at Olson Middle School to assist a student with academic and daily living tasks. Requirements include a High School Diploma, 60 credits or Para Pro, and PCA certification or the ability to obtain.

You will collaborate with licensed staff to support instruction and behavior programs. The role offers 6.2 hours per day, 180 days per year, with pay ranging from $23.06 to $27.15 per hour and wage placement based on

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with licensed staff to assist students with academics, behavior/emotional skills and daily living.
  • Assist in implementation of tasks including instruction and academic support.
  • Monitor independence and behavior management program implementation.
  • Assist with daily living activities and communicate progress to case managers.

Position Title:
Program Management Support Paraprofessional 1:1 with student
Location: Olson Middle School
Effective Date:

Salary:
Class III ranging from $23.06 - $27.15 per hour
*Wage placement based on similar experience
Hours:
6.2 hours per day (Approx. 7:55 am - 2:37 pm)
5 days per week
180 days per year
Required Education:

  • High School Diploma
  • 60 credits post-secondary education or a passing score on the Para Pro Exam
  • PCA Certification (or the ability to obtain)

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to pass a pre-work physical exam including the following requirements:

  • Must have ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have ability to push/pull equipment including standers, wheelchairs, etc
  • Must have ability to repetitively reach overhead
  • Must have ability to transfer to/from floor
  • Must have ability to kneel

Required Experience:
Successful experiences working with speical education students in an educational setting preferred.
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with licensed and other staff to assist students with academic, behavioral/social/emotional, instruction, and daily living skills.

  • Assist in implementation of assigned tasks including instruction and assisting students academically
  • Monitor student's skills of independence and implementation of classroom of individual behavior management programs
  • Assist with daily living activities
  • Communicate student's progress with case managers
