Job summary

West Side Elementary School in Marietta, Georgia, seeks a Paraprofessional for Special Education (MI) to support students with disabilities under the supervision of the Principal and Special Education teachers.

The successful candidate will assist with classroom management, one-on-one student support, data collection, and help implement IEP goals, behavior strategies, and instructional materials in a co-teaching setting. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

Requires an associate degree or higher or equivalent coursework.
Experience with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental delays preferred.
Paraprofessional Assessment passing score required in Georgia.

Responsibilities

Demonstrates punctuality and adheres to work schedules.
Assists with classroom management and data collection for student records and state counts.
Provides one-on-one support to students as needed.
Teaches or assists in developing social, emotional, and life skills under supervision.
Prepares learning materials tailored to individual learning styles.
Assists in administering assessments and documents progress toward goals.
Supports teachers by working on IEP goals and reporting results.
Collaborates in co-teaching environments with behavioral supports and accommodations.
Supervises students on field trips and off-campus activities as needed.
Maintains confidentiality of student information.
Participates in committees and school activities as requested.
Assists in providing additional academic services to at-risk students.
