Job summary

St. Michael-Albertville School District's Middle School East in Saint Michael, MN seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under IEP goals. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–3pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch; FTE 0.8125 (32.5 hours/week).

Start date is immediate; contract is 183 days. Starting rate: $21.15–$21.63 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, life, LTD and dependent care FSAs.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of post-secondary education or equivalent.
• Ability to work with staff and educational teams to support students with disabilities.
• Experience with students or adults with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities to meet academic, behavioral and physical goals per IEP in 1:1 or small group settings under supervision.
• Maintain confidentiality of student and family information per FERPA; collaborate with teachers and bus staff.

About STMA Schools

We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs more than 750 employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

Position Overview & Responsibilities

Responsible for working with students with disabilities in meeting the academic, behavioral and physical needs as identified in the goals, supports, or services of the IEP in either an individual or small group setting under the direction of the special education, classroom teacher or bus service personnel; maintain confidentiality of student and family information as required under FERPA. Requirements & Qualifications

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and two years of post-secondary education or successful completion of a valid and reliable formal assessment as identified by the school district or State; ability to work with staff and an educational team to provide services to students with disabilities; previous experience in working with students or adults with disabilities preferred.
