Job summary

DEER CREEK SCHOOL DISTRICT seeks a Central Creek Middle School Mild/Moderate Special Education Paraprofessional to assist certified staff in delivering instructional goals and helping students participate in mainstreaming activities and health-related tasks.

Under supervision, you will reinforce reading, math, and language arts, supervise lunch and bus duties, accompany students on field trips, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with severely handicapped students desirable.
• Ability to lift students or heavy objects with proper body mechanics.
• Experience working with special needs children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student learning.
• Support behavioral management to maintain a safe, on-task classroom.
• Assist with lunch, bus, playground, and other non-instructional duties.
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
