Job summary

National Heritage Academies in Taylor, MI is seeking a Title 1 paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under IEP/504 plans. You will assist with 1:1 or small group instruction and help implement the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.
• Previous experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications, preferred.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance for students in accordance with their IEP and/or 504-behavior plan.
• Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
• Commit to educating the whole student - academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum and instruction designed for students with disabilities.
• Attend professional development, trainings and IEP meetings with team and parents.
