Job summary

CCRES Educational & Behavioral Health Services is seeking a School Nurse Paraprofessional to support Susquenita School District students. Under the school nurse's supervision, you will assist with personal care, hygiene, mobility, and health-related tasks to help maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.

The role involves diapering, toileting assistance, positioning, and safeguarding student privacy while promoting independence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required and must pass for "highly qualified" per NCLB.
• Two years post secondary education, or higher, preferred.
• Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed/provider setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the school nurse with routine health office duties and student care.
• Provide assistance with personal hygiene and activities of daily living.
• Assist students with bathroom transfers, positioning, and clothing management.
• Perform sanitary cleanup following toileting accidents or other incidents with bodily fluids.
• Maintain student privacy, dignity, and respect during personal care activities.
• Encourage student independence and participation in self-care tasks.
• Monitor students for changes in appearance or well-being and report concerns.

SUMMARY:

• The hourly School Nurse Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment with Susquenita School District is $17.00/hour.
• 5 days of Paid Time Off (prorated based on hire date).
• The School Nurse Paraprofessional assists the school nurse in providing a safe, supportive, and healthy school environment for students. Under the direction and supervision of the school nurse, the paraprofessional supports students with personal care, hygiene, toileting, mobility, and other health-related needs as assigned. The position promotes student health, safety, dignity, independence, and access to the educational environment while maintaining confidentiality and following district policies, individualized student plans, and applicable health and safety procedures.

OPENINGS FOR '26-'27 SCHOOL YEAR:

• Susquenita Elementary School:
• Monday - Friday (8:30am - 3:00pm)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the school nurse with routine health office duties and student care as directed.
• Provide assistance with personal hygiene and activities of daily living, including toileting, diapering, changing soiled clothing, and other personal care needs.
• Assist students with bathroom transfers, positioning, clothing management, and personal hygiene, as appropriate to the student's abilities and documented care plan.
• Perform sanitary cleanup following toileting accidents, incontinence episodes, vomiting, or other incidents involving bodily fluids, in accordance with district procedures, infection-control practices, and applicable safety requirements.
• Maintain student privacy, dignity, and respect during all personal care activities.
• Encourage student independence and participation in self-care tasks to the greatest extent appropriate.
• Monitor students for changes in appearance, behavior, or general well-being and promptly report concerns to the school nurse.
• Assist students with mobility, positioning, and safe transitions as directed and in accordance with established procedures.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma required - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB.
