Job summary

Forestlawn Elementary School in Sheffield Lake, Ohio is seeking a Pupil Personnel Paraprofessional (Special Education) to support students with special needs. The position is part-time, 30 hours per week, with a base rate of $16.31 per hour.

The role reports to the Building Principal or designee and requires an ESEA endorsement with FBI/BCI background clearance. Responsibilities include assisting the teacher with instructional activities and small-group work, helping with personal hygiene, and

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid ESEA qualification certificate/license.
Prior experience working with children preferred.
Such additional qualifications shall not be arbitrary or capricious.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher with instructional activities, assignments, and classroom routines.
Assist students with personal hygiene and cleanliness as needed.
Work directly with individual students and/or small groups to reinforce and support material initially introduced by the teacher.
Assist with clerical duties and the preparation of progress reports as needed.
Attend staff meetings and conferences related to the special education needs of assigned students.
Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, Building Principal, Director of Special Education, or designee.
