Job summary

Responsibilities include monitoring students, supporting instruction under teachers, implementing IEP-based plans, and maintaining data; requires Para-Pro or 60 college credits and experience with students with special needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with Para-Pro exam or 60 college credit hours.
• Experience with children or students with special needs desired.
• Ability to lift students up to 40 pounds with two-person lift.

Responsibilities

• Monitor students during arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal times.
• Assist in classroom instruction under the direction of general and special education teachers.
• Implement Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) as written in the IEP.
• Assist students following the classroom schedule and modify work as needed.
• Record and summarize data as directed by the special education teacher.
