Job summary

The Academy is seeking a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional to support students in grades 3-5 for the 2026-2027 school year. The role involves assisting with reading, writing, and math, implementing instructions, and reinforcing school-wide discipline procedures within the Special Education Department.

Responsibilities include co-teaching small groups, testing, managing online programs, and preparing classroom materials.

Qualifications

• Experience working with school age children preferred.
• Must meet the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements: AA or 2-year college degree, OR 48 college semester hours, OR paraprofessional exam.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach small groups in the resource room under the direction of Learning Specialists.
• Pull small groups for testing.
• Manage online programs.
• Extrapolate lesson plans in reading and math; organize testing materials, weekly supplements.
• Collect classroom IEP summaries and create new files for upcoming year.
• Finalize all IEPs and distribute classroom summaries to teachers and families.
• Front load initial IEPs with demographic info and grades.
• Push-in to general education classes as needed; may assist general education students.
