Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bus Certification to be obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Knowledge of special needs of students in assigned area.
• Desire to assist students with special needs in a learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning per IEP.
• Assists certified staff in devising strategies to reinforce learning based on student needs.
• Administers tests, homework, and make-up work to aid evaluation of progress.
• Alerts teacher to any problem or information about a student.
• Monitors and assists students in various settings to ensure safety.
• Provides direct instruction to students under supervision to implement IEP goals.
• Drives small special education bus to other campuses for meals, activities, nurse visits etc.
• Implements behavioral plans designed by ARD for students with behavior disorders.
