Qualifications

• 30 semester hours of college credit required.
• Associate's degree or higher required or must pass the Illinois Paraprofessional Test.
• Illinois Paraprofessional Educator License may be required by law.
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction and student supervision.
• Implement behavior interventions and IEP accommodations/modifications under teacher direction.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and related service providers.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality and school policies.
• Establish positive, therapeutic relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
