Job summary

Converse County School District #1 in Douglas, Wyoming is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students under certified staff supervision and help implement instructional programs. You will reinforce reading, language arts, and math activities while assisting with assessments and classroom routines.

You will work with students individually and in small groups, help with behavior management, supervise non-instructional duties, and contribute to a safe, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

• Supports students under supervision of certified staff.
• Reinforces reading, math and language arts instructions.
• Assists with classroom organization and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction and other skills.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement programs.
• Assists professional staff in administration and correction of exercises, tests and assessments.
• Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials.
• Assists with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions and keep students on task.
• Supervises students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, corridors, study halls).
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision purposes.
• Assists with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Assists students with special needs to maximize inclusion and achievement according to IEPs.
• Participates in IEP processes and supports student evaluation teams as needed.
