Job summary

Peachtree Middle School is seeking a MID/MOID Paraprofessional to support students and promote high academic expectations within the DeKalb County School District. The role requires collaboration with teachers and strong written and verbal communication skills.

The paraprofessional will assist with instructional support, behavioral and social-emotional needs, and daily classroom operations, while ensuring materials and resources are ready for instructional segments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree or higher from a Georgia PSC approved accredited college or university.
• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with GPA 2.0 or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
• Assists students with health care procedures including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
• Provides small groups and/or individualized instruction to students, following lesson plans by the teacher.
• Monitors students before/after school and during non-instructional transitions.
• Assists teachers with daily classroom management to promote an effective learning environment.
• Assists teachers with assessment of student performance and other recordkeeping tasks.
• Assists teachers with development and organization of instructional materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
