Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment, required.
• Associate degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university required.
• Minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia PSC-approved accredited college or university.
• Must obtain valid Professional Standards Commission approved paraprofessional certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with physical needs including feeding, toileting, lifting, and mobility.
• Assists students with health care procedures including hygiene and medications as needed for daily care.
• Provides small groups and/or individualized instruction.
• Monitors students during non-instructional periods and supports classroom behavior.
• Assists teachers with assessment of student performance and recordkeeping.
• Develops and organizes instructional materials for scheduled segments.
