Job summary

The paraprofessional may assist with personal care needs, assistive technology, and behavior support, while collaborating with school staff to meet the diverse needs of students in a 185‑day instructional program.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedures.
• Write routine reports and correspondence.
• Communicate effectively before groups or individuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing IEPs under teacher direction.
• Support small group or individual instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Attend to students' personal hygiene and basic care needs.
• Assist with assistive technology and classroom routines.
• Escort and supervise students during arrivals, departures, and transitions.
• Collect, chart, and report student performance data to teachers.
• Maintain student records and instructional materials.
• Contribute to behavioral management and intervention plans.
• Participate in staff development and safety training.
• Provide ABA therapy as appropriate and under supervision.
