Job summary

Oatville Elementary School is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support classroom teachers and students with IEP goals. Immediate starting date with duties including assisting in instruction, monitoring student progress, and upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 48 college hours or an associate/bachelor degree, and TB testing as required by health regulations. Salary is based on the Educational Support Staff schedule.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of college education (48 college hours).
  • Associates or bachelors degree.
  • Demonstrate knowledge through formal assessment (ParaPro or Paraeducator Learning Network within one year).
  • Maintain current TB testing as required by Health Department regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Adapts classroom activities and materials under supervising teacher direction.
  • Administers tests, homework, and make-up work to support teachers.
  • Assist medically fragile or physically disabled students with personal hygiene.
  • Attend meetings and in-service trainings (first aid, CPR, emergencies).
  • Communicate with staff and parents regarding progress and IEP objectives.
  • Implement behavioral plans under supervision to support learning concepts.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent
Two years of college education (48 hours)
Associates or bachelors degree
ParaPro Assessment or Paraeducator Learning Network Assessment within one year
Current TB testing
