Job summary

MCLEAN COUNTY UNIT DISTRICT #5 is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional (1.0 FTE) for Fox Creek building. You will work closely with students with learning disabilities, autism, or mild behaviors to support their progress in a general education setting.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, preparing materials, supervising students, and helping with self-care tasks. Requires ROE #17 license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a registered license with the Regional Office of Education #17 at time of hire.
• Excellent Oral and Written communication skills to work with teachers and staff.
• Ability to maintain professional relationships and follow district policies.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 10 lbs.
• Detail oriented with accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Discuss duties with teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
• Prepare lesson materials, displays, and demonstrations as needed.
• Present subject matter to students under guidance of teachers.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and on field trips.
• Assist with self-care, feeding, and basic student needs as required.
• Maintain ethical confidentiality of student information.
