Elk River Area ISD 728 is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to join our elementary teams for the 2026-2027 school year. In this role, you will work closely with Special Education Teachers to support the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must meet Minnesota Paraprofessional requirements (e.g., Associate's degree, 60 college credits, or ParaPro score).
• Previous experience with children, especially with special needs, is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding student records.

Aufgaben

• Assist lead teacher with individualized or small-group instruction per IEPs.
• Support student engagement in general and special education settings.
• Implement behavior intervention plans and assist in de-escalation.
• Observe, record, and chart students' progress.
• Assist with daily living activities if needed.
• Prepare instructional materials and set up assistive technology.
