Job summary

Faribault Independent School District 656 seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support Level III Early Childhood special needs students at Roosevelt Early Learning Center. The role runs Mon-Thurs 8:30-3:30 and Fri 12:00-3:30, with pay starting at $21.25/hour and immediate hire.

Responsibilities include supervision, data collection, and assisting with health-related tasks under the nurse's supervision. Must be willing to be trained in PECS and related strategies.

Qualifications

• Two year Associate of Arts degree or 60 college credits or portfolio or Para Pro Test.
• High School Diploma required.
• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with personal care when needed.
• Willingness to be trained in PECS, visual schedules, social stories, and positive behavior supports.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and supervision of Level III Early Childhood special needs students.
• Substitute in the health office when needed under supervision of the licensed school nurse.
• Carry out routine record keeping and data reporting as directed by the case manager.
• Follow District policies and maintain First Aid/ CPR standards.
