Job summary

Faribault School District seeks a Long Term Substitute Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with functional skills needs at Jefferson Elementary. Position is 7 hours/day, 5 days/week, with a starting pay of $21.10/hour and dates approx. 10/2/26–12/18/26.

Responsibilities include health office substitute duties under the licensed nurse, data collection, and adherence to first aid/CPR standards. Experience with special needs students and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Ability to take direction from the case manager.
• Willingness to be trained in PECS, visual schedules, social stories, and positive behavior supports.
• Ability to collect and report data as directed by the case manager.
• Willingness to be trained in certain medical procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with personal care when needed.

Responsibilities

• Substitute in the health office under supervision of the school nurse.
• Support paraprofessional activities related to health office services and follow district policies and CPR/first aid standards.
