Job summary

MCLEAN COUNTY UNIT DISTRICT #5 is seeking a paraprofessional in the Special Education program. The role involves assisting students with learning disabilities, autism, or mild behaviors within general and special education settings, under the direction of licensed teachers.

The position requires an educator license with paraprofessional endorsement and strong communication skills. It includes duties such as material preparation, supervision, and adherence to district policies while supporting

Qualifications

Must possess an educator license with stipulations endorsed for paraprofessional educator or professional educator license at the time of hire.
Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with teachers, education support personnel, building administrators and the public.
Enforce school regulations and policies in a professional manner.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with fellow employees and pupils.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Requires ability to push/pull up to 10 lbs.
Must be detail oriented.

Responsibilities

Discuss duties with classroom teachers to coordinate instructional efforts.
Prepare lesson materials, bulletin board displays, and demonstrations as needed.
Present subject matter to students under guidance of teachers.
Supervise students in classrooms, halls, and on field trips.
Distribute materials and collect tests/homework.
Enforce school policies and maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality.
