Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Works cooperatively with the classroom teacher in the implementation of the instructional program.
• Helps children achieve success and develop positive feelings about themselves and school.
• Serves as a model in developing children's language and behavior.
• Assists the certified teacher(s) or related service personnel in implementing the student(s) IEP.
• Prepares for instruction by collecting and/or creating resource materials and teaching aids.
• Assists in the personal care of the child/children.
• Ensures the safety of the child/children.
• Provides supports for physical, health or behavioral concerns to enable access to education.
• Uses assistive technology if needed by the student(s).
• Supervises activities during the contract day (playground, drills, lunch, trips, etc.).
• Maintains professional competence and cooperative relationships with staff and administrators.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with policies.
