Qualifications

• Education: associate degree or higher OR 2 years college with 60 hours OR high school diploma + GACE paraprofessional.
• Certification: Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate with in-service training.
• Experience: None required.
• Physical: able to lift 60 lb and perform two-person lift.
• Knowledge/Abilities: written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Attend to students and assist classroom teacher with activities.
• Assist with record keeping and data collection.
• Participate in school functions, field trips, and training.
• Assist with hall duty and bus loading as directed.
• Provide support when substitute teacher is present.
• Assist with toileting, feeding, and other delegated medical procedures as directed.
• Move students between areas and positions as needed.
• Support instruction and positioning as directed.
