Job summary

Cobb County School District is seeking a Paraprofessional for ALL Special Education at Pebblebrook High School in Mableton, GA. Starting Oct 7, 2026, the role supports a SPED teacher with classroom activities, data collection, and attendance at school events.

Requirements include GaPSC Paraprofessional Certification, no prior experience required, and ability to assist with activities and mobility of students. The position is monthly-paid under the NH0 pay grade and reports to the Principal.

Qualifications

• Must maintain Georgia Paraprofessional Certificate which includes in-service training related to position
• Ability to lift a student up to 60 pounds without assistance
• Written and oral communication skills

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
• Exhibits professionalism in all job-related situations; follows professional ethics in all work-related activities; presents a personal appearance which enhances the image of the school.
• Follows all county, state and federal policies and procedures.
• Assists the classroom teacher in the preparation and implementation of class activities.
• Assists classroom teacher with the record keeping process and data collection.
• Participates in school functions, field trips and extracurricular activities as indicated.
• Participates in on-going in-service training.
• Assists with hall duty and bus loading and unloading as directed.
• Assumes a lead role with the substitute teacher when the classroom teacher is absent.
• Assists with toileting, diapering, food preparation, feeding and other delegated medical procedures as directed.
• Assists with the movement of students from one area of the school to another or to a specialized position.
• Assists with instruction, positioning and therapy as directed by related services personnel.
• Assists in maintaining a sanitary environment; handles body fluids following universal precautions.
• Assists in implementing community-based instruction or community/campus-based skills training without direct on-site supervision in accordance with State guidelines.
• Monitors the classroom during teacher’s participation in IEP meetings or other activities/planning which require the teacher to be out of the room.
• Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
