Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking an Associate Educator - [Classroom Support] for Seward Elementary to assist students with disabilities in a supportive classroom setting. The role involves implementing individualized instruction and working closely with staff to meet therapy and education goals.

The position requires completion of college credits or ParaPro with a HS diploma/GED, plus experience with children.

Qualifications

• Completion of 90 quarter/60 semester college credits or ParaPro with high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience working with children, OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students with disabilities in a learning environment.
• Assist staff to create and implement individualized lessons and activities.
• Monitor student activities and maintain records of progress and behavior.
• Provide for students’ daily hygiene and personal cares as directed by licensed staff.
• Promote independence and safety in and outside the classroom.

Education

90 quarter/60 semester college credits

ParaPro 460+ score with high school diploma or GED

Two years of experience with children
