Job summary

The McHenry County ROE Application Consortium is seeking a Support Staff/Special Education Assistant at Marlowe Middle School. This full-time role runs 10 months with an immediate start, supporting students with special needs throughout academics and daily routines.

You will assist the teacher with classroom tasks, help students adhere to schedules, and contribute to meeting each student’s IEP goals. Some duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Qualifications

• MUST hold an ELS (Paraprofessional) license or Professional Educator License (PEL).
• Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students.
• Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with special needs throughout the day with academics and daily school routines.
• Follow a strict schedule and maintain student safety while school is in session.
• Assist the teacher with miscellaneous classroom tasks and support students to meet IEP goals.
• Support the students and teacher to ensure success of each student in meeting his/her IEP goals.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
