Job summary

Duluth Public Schools is hiring a Special Education Paraprofessional at Laura MacArthur Elementary. The position is 31.25 hours/week, Monday–Friday, 7:30 am–2:15 pm, with starting wage $20.86–$23.48 per hour plus benefits. This is a temporary Building Wide/LTS assignment through 12/14/26.

The role involves assisting teachers with educational, emotional, and physical needs, supporting students in daily activities, and helping implement IEPs in a collaborative school setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits or passing ParaPro assessment.
• Experience as a teacher's assistant in a school or related childcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist special education teachers with meeting educational, emotional, and physical needs of students.
• Guide students through daily activities using a balanced approach.
• Assist in implementing the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
