Job summary

Brennan Middle School of Attleboro Public Schools is seeking Paraprofessional Special Education MDAP staff. Two positions to support students in a highly-structured environment emphasizing adaptive living, communication, academics, self-regulation, and mobility.

Under supervision of certified staff, you will assist with instruction, implement behavior supports, collect data, and support students in daily living and school activities, including non-instructional duties as needed. EOE.

Qualifications

• Experience with ABA principles and data collection.
• Ability to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students and staff.
• Establish supportive relationships with students with disabilities.
• Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Assist with all aspects of student self-care.
• Implement crisis/emergency procedures per protocol.

Responsibilities

• Implements lessons and accommodations as directed by the teacher.
• Implements interventions and de-escalation strategies for behavioral issues.
• Records and reports data on student progress.
• Collaborates with staff to support student success.
• Assists with self-care and daily living activities for students with disabilities.
• Supports students during non-instructional times (lunch, bus, corridor).
• Performs other duties as required by supervisors.
