Eleutheria is seeking a Special Education Teacher for K-12 in Fairland, IN. The role focuses on delivering personalized instruction, developing and monitoring IEPs, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support student outcomes.

You will design legally mandated plans, adapt lessons for diverse learners, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations while working in a school-based setting.

Formación

• Current Indiana Department of Education license with Special Education endorsement.
• Criminal and DCS background checks.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement legally mandated, customized IEPs with specific goals, services, and accommodations.
• Modify lesson plans using multi-sensory teaching methods to fit diverse learners.
• Monitor academic and behavioral progress with formal and informal tools; update IEP goals accordingly.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, school counselors, speech therapists, and administrators.
• Maintain confidential records and ensure compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
• Support behavior intervention plans and manage classroom crises to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Supervise and mentor Instructional Assistants or Paraprofessionals providing direct support.

$40-$48/hourly

Job Description:

For the 26/27 SY | $40-$48/hour | Full-Time | Fairland, IN | School-Based | Indiana Professional Educators License Required

About the Role:

Provide educational instruction to students in K-12 school settings. You'll conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver educational support to help students improve their skills and access their education. This role collaborates closely with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize student outcomes.

What You'll Do:

• Designing and implementing legally mandated, customized educational plans that outline specific goals, services, and accommodations for each student.
• Modify standard lesson plans and using specialized teaching techniques (e.g., multi-sensory learning, scaffolding) to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
• Use both formal and informal tools to monitor academic and behavioral performance, then updating IEP goals based on this data.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes general education teachers, parents, school counselors, speech therapists, and administrators to provide holistic support.
• Coordinate special education documentation, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring legal compliance with federal and state regulations like the Individuals with Disabilities Act.
• Implement behavior intervention plans, utilizing positive reinforcement, and managing classroom crises to create a safe learning environment.
• Supervision: Overseeing and mentoring Instructional Assistants or Paraprofessionalswho provide direct support to students.

What We're Looking For:

Must Have:

• Current Indiana Department of Education Professional Educator's License with Special Education endorsement
• Criminal and DCS background checks
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred:

• One year of experience as Special Education Teacher (new grads welcome)
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and special education programs
• Experience with school-based caseload management
