Job summary

Qualifications

• 60 college credits and/or a two-year degree from an accredited college or university.
• In lieu of college credits or degree, the Paraeducator Assessments with passing scores (65% and 70%).
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with elementary age students.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Flexibility and the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
• Positive rapport with children and ability to correct behavior fairly.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Follow student Behavior Intervention Plans and Emergency Healthcare Plans.
• Provide support to students with personal cares as needed.
• Observe and document students' academic and social behaviors.
• Collect data and report progress to teachers and related staff.
• Provide feedback on student progress to classroom staff.
• Use iPads or devices for communication with non-verbal students.
• Support de-escalation techniques and follow training.
• Supervise students before, during, and after school hours.
• Assist during meals, recess, and field trips.
• Monitor lunchroom and playground as needed.
