Job summary

ASU Preparatory Academy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraeducator to support students in the classroom under the supervision of a licensed teacher. You will help guide small groups, reinforce skills, and monitor progress, while maintaining open communication with partnership staff.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED plus an Associate’s Degree or 60 college credits, DPS fingerprint clearance, CPR, and the ability to supervise and assist children in daily activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus an Associate’s Degree or higher or 60 college credits
• Passing ADE approved assessments: ParaPro, ACT WorkKeys, or Master Teacher’s ParaEducator PD
• Active Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
• CPR Certification
• Experience supervising and assisting groups of children; highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Works with small groups under the supervision of the teacher.
• Directs small groups of children and reinforces classroom instruction.
• Encourages independent work and assists with routine tasks.
• Supervises during lunch, on the playground, and transition times.
• Helps prepare instructional materials and maintain attendance records.
