Job summary

ASU Preparatory Academy seeks a Special Education Paraeducator to support students with special needs in the classroom. This role acts as a liaison between teachers and students, guiding instruction and behavior management.

Responsibilities include small-group instruction, facilitating independent work, supervising lunchtime and play, and assisting with materials and routine tasks under the lead teacher's direction.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated reading, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Works with small groups under teacher supervision.
• Directs small groups and helps students follow directions.
• Reinforces skills taught by the classroom teacher to individuals and groups.
• Supervises students during lunch and outdoor activities.
• Assists with classroom setup, materials, and record-keeping.
• Implements modified curriculum and provides behavior support.
