Qualifications

• Experience working with school age children and special needs students preferred.
• Completion of Autism Spectrum Disorder course required.
• Right Response training within 3–5 months of hire.
• Paraeducator certificate program as required by state funding.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students individually or in small groups in a self-contained setting.
• Assist with basic life skills, personal care and safety needs.
• Monitor student behavior and maintain classroom records.
• Support teachers with instructional and non-instructional activities.
• Assist with toileting, feeding and communication development as needed.
• Establish and maintain communication with staff, students and families.
