Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Severe Needs Para Educator to assist students with severe special education needs under licensed staff supervision. Responsibilities include adapting curriculum, supporting individual and small-group work, and maintaining progress records.

In remote settings, assist with technology access and coursework completion. Requires CPI training and a fingerprint background check.

Qualifications

Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
No professional work experience required.
Completion of at least two years of college study or an associate’s degree.
Mandatory biennial Crisis Prevention Intervention training provided by the District.
Medication administration training provided by the District as needed.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students.
Ability to appropriately modify curriculum.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
Ability to implement behavior modification techniques.

Responsibilities

Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs.
Support with IEP accommodations and document progress with licensed staff.
Help prepare materials, assist with tests and attendance, and support in events.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
