Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools seeks a Severe Needs Para Educator to support students with severe disabilities under licensed staff. You will assist in classrooms, implement IEP accommodations, prepare materials, and help with data collection.

The role encompasses both in-person and remote learning tasks, including technology support, behavior strategies, and safety. Strong organization and communication skills are essential with no prior professional experience required.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma and no professional work experience required
• Title I assignments require one of several educational qualifications (e.g., two years of college, associate degree, or demonstrated equivalency)
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training provided by the District
• Medication administration training provided by the District as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs
• Implement IEP accommodations and maintain progress and behavior records
• Assist with materials, tests, attendance, and classroom events as needed
• Support online learning activities and technology access for students
• Maintain a safe, hygienic classroom and assist with routine care as assigned
• Monitor and reinforce appropriate behavior and assist in de-escalation when needed
