Job summary

Cherry Creek Schools is seeking a Severe Needs Para Educator to support students with significant disabilities under licensed staff. The role involves adapting curriculum, implementing behavior strategies, and assisting with assessments and progress records, in both in-person and remote learning contexts.

You will assist with curriculum delivery to individuals and small groups, monitor student progress, and help ensure a safe, hygienic environment.

Qualifications

• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
• High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma
• No professional work experience required
• Title I assignments requirements: two years of college or an associate’s degree or equivalent as defined by state/local assessment
• Mandatory Crisis Prevention Intervention training
• Medication administration training
• Basic knowledge of office equipment
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
• Intermediate interpersonal relations skills
• Intermediate organizational skills
• Ability to work alone and with others
• Ability to modify curriculum
• Ability to implement behavior modification techniques
• Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job
• Ability to work one-on-one and in small groups with students
• DHH program: sign language language development
• Homebound program: appropriate family boundaries and home setting interactions

Responsibilities

• Assist students with classroom activities and adapt curriculum for individual needs.
• Implement IEP accommodations, supports, and programming with licensed staff; maintain progress and behavior records.
• Assist with materials prep, tests, attendance, and classroom events (e.g., fire drills).
• Support online learning activities and technology access for remote settings.
