Job summary

Muscatine Community School District’s Muskie Early Learning Center in Muscatine, IA, seeks a Special Education Aide. The role is 6.25 hours/day, 9 months/year, Monday–Friday, approx. 7:40am–2:25pm, with a starting wage of $18.40/hour.

Bilingual ability is highly desirable and all duties are performed on-site. The position supports paraprofessional activities under supervising teachers and administrators, with duties including supervision, data collection, and student support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Must have the physical capacity to assist students.
• Training offered in Chapter 103 Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and related topics.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist students individually or in small groups as directed.
• Support students with academic, social, and behavioral goals under teacher supervision.
• Assist with data collection as directed by instructional staff.
• Occasionally assist with personal care or mobility needs as required.
• Maintain regular attendance to support student consistency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
