Job summary

Muscatine Community School District is hiring a Special Education Paraeducator for Jefferson Elementary in Muscatine, IA. This 6.25-hour-per-day paraeducator position runs nine months per year while school is in session, typically 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Bilingual ability is preferred and on-site work is required to support students with academic, social, and behavioral needs. Responsibilities include assisting the classroom teacher, one-on-one support, and data collection

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.
• Must have the physical ability to assist students, including lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher in helping students achieve academic and behavioral goals.
• May provide one-on-one support with a student.
• Support data collection systems under teacher direction.
• Assist with restroom or personal hygiene as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance to support student consistency.
