Job summary

Muscatine Schools is hiring a Special Education Aide for McKinley Elementary School to start in August 2026. The role is a 9-month, part-time paraeducator position scheduled for 6.25 hours per day, Monday through Friday, typically 7:45am–2:30pm, with starting pay of $18.40/hour. Bilingual ability is preferred.

All duties are performed on-site. The employee will assist the classroom teacher, supervising and supporting students with academic, social, and behavioral goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual is preferred or highly desirable.
• Some positions may require a valid driver's license and use of personal vehicle.
• Must have physical capacity to assist students, including lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher to support students' academic, behavioral, and social goals.
• Supervise students individually or in small groups as directed.
• Support data collection and reporting under teacher guidance.
• Attend to student needs including mobility and personal hygiene as required.
