Job summary

Spokane Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator to support students with disabilities under the guidance of certificated staff. You will help implement IEP accommodations, assist with instruction, routines, and transitions across classrooms and settings to promote safety and student success.

Qualified candidates provide a high school diploma with 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits (or pass an assessment) and are able to lift up to 50 pounds; completion of required trainings is expected.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits from an accredited college, AA or BA, or pass an academically rigorous assessment.
  • Ability to work with students with a broad range of disabilities.
  • One year of relevant work experience preferred; willingness to complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support across assigned students and settings as directed by administrators and case managers.
  • Assist with implementing IEP/504/BIP strategies and other student support plans.
  • Support access to instruction, routines, transitions, and inclusion in general and specialized settings.
  • Provide personal care and mobility assistance as trained, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
