Washoe County School District seeks a Paraeducator Assistant III HQ - Special Education to support instructional staff in a SPED setting. Duties include creating instructional materials, collecting data, and assisting with behavioral strategies under supervision.

The role requires completing 48 semester hours (or higher degree) or an equivalent credential such as ParaPathways or ParaPro; the position is based at Smith, Alice Elementary School with salary steps aligned to Grade 19.

Qualifications

• Completed at least 48 semester hours of credit at an accredited college or university; or an associate's degree or higher degree.
• Passed ParaPathways with reading/writing score ≥ 332 and math score ≥ 334, or
• Passed the ParaPro Assessment by ETS with a score ≥ 455.

Responsibilities

• Assists teaching staff in providing individual and group instruction.
• Develops and maintains records and instructional materials; performs related work as required.
• Supports diverse SPED programs and prepares lesson outlines and teaching aids.
• Operates classroom equipment and assists with student supervision and discipline.
