Job summary

ALTA VISTA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Cheyenne, Wyoming seeks a Paraeducator – Special Education to support students under a certified teacher. Responsibilities include reinforcing curriculum for individuals or small groups and contributing to IEP implementation.

The role requires adapting activities and monitoring behavior in a respectful, supportive environment. Position is 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, for 9 months, with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with school age children preferred
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a certified teacher, reinforce curriculum with individuals or small groups.
• Adapt activities and materials to meet IEP goals and student needs.
• Monitor behavior and provide clerical support to teachers and staff.
• Assist in administering tests and assignments as directed.
• Attend meetings and collaborate with teachers and parents as requested.
• Support safety, organization, and smooth classroom operations.
