HOBBS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Cheyenne, Wyoming, is seeking a Paraeducator – Special Education to support students with IEPs under a certified teacher. This 8-hour/day position runs Monday through Friday with a 9-month work year and starts immediately.

Salary is listed as $16.52 per hour, with benefits. High school diploma or equivalent required; experience with school-aged children and special needs is preferred. Criminal background check is required for hire.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required.
• Experience working with school age children preferred.
• Experience working with children with special needs preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• First Aid certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Under direct supervision of a certified teacher, assist students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts, adapt activities, and support IEP goals.
• Confer with the teacher to evaluate student progress, maintain records, and report observations.
• Collaborate to implement IEP objectives and attend IEP meetings when requested.
• Monitor and supervise students in classrooms, playgrounds, field trips, library, lunchroom, and bus loading/unloading.
• Assist in copying, organizing, and maintaining classroom materials and supplies.
• Assist other staff with administrative tasks and classroom setup as needed.
• Respond to emergency situations and follow safety procedures.
• Attend meetings and in-service trainings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
