Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Paraeducator Aide II to support special education staff in a classroom setting at North Valleys High School. The role includes assisting students with diverse intellectual, physical, or behavioral needs across EC/IEP-related activities and accommodations.

The candidate will help with lesson support, behavior plans, and daily living skills. This position requires interaction with students, families, and school staff to promote student progress and safety.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Any education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.
• A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be: Any experience that would demonstrate the ability to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities.
• The Paraeducator Aide must also be at least 18 years of age; have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in activities.
• Provide attendant services to students and support health/hygiene needs.
• Move students weighing 50–80 pounds daily and repeatedly.
• Assist in recording student progress toward goals and developing instructional materials.
• Follow behavior plans and implement non-violent interventions as needed.
