Clover Park School District is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator II to support students with significant needs in the K-12 range. The role involves direct student assistance, behavior support, and material preparation under the guidance of a special education teacher.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior strategies, assisting with IEPs, and ensuring student safety during meals, bus transitions, and activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and must meet one of: passing PESB-approved assessment, associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, or completed paraeducator apprenticeship.
• Two years of successful work experience with special education students.
• Board approved assessments requirements: ParaPathways, ParaPro, Pearson Paraprofessional, Master Teacher Inc.
• Knowledge of classroom/behavior management, special education terminology, lifting/feeding techniques, restraint techniques, verbal de-escalation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with confidential information (FERPA/ HIPAA).

Responsabilités

• Assist with hygiene, lifting, toileting, and feeding, including G-tube, under supervision.
• Assist with student transport and transitions between activities.
• Support with managing high-risk students and behavioral strategies.
• Prepare materials and support IEP preparation and documentation.
• Maintain records and assist with data entry and reporting.
