Job summary

Alpine School District is seeking a Special Education Para-Educator II to support instructional programs under the supervision of a classroom teacher. You will assist in supervising and instructing students with special needs in both regular and self-contained settings, and help implement IEP goals.

The role is non-contract with no benefits, 5.75 hours per day, and hourly rate of $17.67. You will work with the special education team to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• 16+ years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Job related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under the direction of the supervising teacher to support objectives and IEP goals.
• Administers immediate first aid and medical assistance as instructed by a health care professional.
• Assists students with self-care activities to maintain hygiene.
• Collects data to support teachers and prepare reports.
• Monitors students in various environments to maintain safety.
• Provides instruction in individual and group activities to reinforce objectives and IEP plans.
